James Starling "Jim" Crane
1922-2005



PAWLEYS ISLAND | James ''Jim'' Starling Crane, 82, died peacefully at home Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 after an illness.



Born Jan. 29, 1922 in Camdenton, Mo., he was the son of the late D.T and Altazara Thompson Crane. Jim served in the US Navy as a pilot. He was a member of Pawleys Island Community Church. He also owned, trained and raised horses for forty years.



Survivors include his wife, Janice Burris Crane; two sons, Chet Crane and his wife Karen, of Md. and Dennis Crane of Calif.; two daughters, Beverly Roszin and her husband Joe, of Del., and Donna Fitzgerald and her husband R.L., of Md.; one stepson, Bob Winstead and his wife Amy, of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Misti Kekevian and her husband Paul, of Va., and Hunter, Peyton and Brock Winstead of N.C., and one great-grandchild, Isabella Kekevian of Va.



Funeral services were at Pawleys Island Community Chapel, 2 p.m. Sunday 01/23/05, directed by Litchfield Pawleys Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Private burial services will be held Monday at Florence National Cemetery.
