Obituary: |
Dorothy E. Crane, age 84, a resident of Delmar Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center
for the past 6 ˝ years, died Thursday, October
25, 2007 at Coastal Hospice at
the Lake in Salisbury. She was born
in Stockton, Maryland, a daughter of the late
Harry and Margaret
Matthews. She worked for many years with her husband,
caring for and
training harness racing horses. She worked many years as a hostess
at Johnny & Sammy’s and English’s. She was a member of the Salisbury
Moose
and VFW. In addition to her love for horses, she loved nature
and got pleasure
working with flowers and loved cardinals. She was a
very loving, caring and
devoted mother, grandmother and aunt, as
well as a cherished friend by all who
knew her. Most importantly,
she loved Jesus with all of her heart and would tell
everyone that
right up till HE took her home. She is survive by daughters, Beverly
Crane, Donna Fitzgerald and her husband RL; sons, Dennis Crane and
Chet
Crane and his wife, Karen; one granddaughter, Misti Hammer
Kekevian; and a
great-granddaughter, Isabella Kekevian. She is also
survived by nieces, Deborah
Russell and her husband, Frank, and
their daughter Brittany, Margaret Fecteau
and her husband, John, and
Diane Gillis and her husband, Don, and their son and
daughter, Ron
and Renae, and Dale Matthews. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Harry Edward, and a son,
James, Jr.
Interment will be private in the family lot in Greenbackville Cemetery in Virginia.
