My Beautiful Sister is In A Better Place Now and Free From Her Pain

When I was 12 years old I first gave my life to the Lord. I don't remember the exact date or time but I remember Mrs. Hastings, our baby-sitter. She was my source, my connection to the Bible and she taught me to love my Lord. I can't say that I have always walked the perfect walk, but I can say that the Lord has always been with me every step of the way.

I married too young, but the Lord blessed me with a beautiful little girl, Misti, the light of my life. After 11 years we went our separate ways and I raised my daughter with the help of my family. My mother has always been there for me and for all of her children and her granddaughter. My Dad has always been my best friend. My brothers Dennis and Chet, are both younger than I am, but each of them has always been the rock I leaned on and they are the ones I turned to for advice. My precious little sister Donna, and I have always had a very special bond and there are no words that can explain, we are forever best friends. My love and gratitude to them all is forever. And I cannot forget my best girlfriend, Sharon who for many years has always just listened and been there. I thank her always.

In 1980 I had emergency kidney surgery. After being in a coma for 6 days and wearing an ileostomy bag for 2 months, with the help of my family and the good Lord I made a full recovery.

Then in 1982 while I was taking a ride with a friend on a motorcycle an automobile hit me . I was severely injured and almost died. My shoulder was dislocated, my hand crushed, and many numerous other injuries. The most severe injury, however, was to my left leg. It was severed below my knee with only a little bit of skin left in tack. It took 18 major operations at Johns Hopkins and 4 years before I able to walk on my own again. The most important thing about all of this is: I was never alone! My Lord and savior, Jesus Christ was always walking for me, and with me. He carried me when I needed him. And He knew what I needed before I knew. My life would mean nothing without Him.

I walk in the Lord's light daily and do my best to serve Him always. I recently was blessed to rededicate my life to the Lord and be baptized again. The emotion was so overwhelming it will be with me always.

I hope my story has touched your heart. It is my prayer that if you have not made your commitment to Jesus, that you read your Bible and ask the Lord to forgive you and then invite Him into your life. You will be changed forever and have eternal life.

May God Bless You!
