Mom Fitz's Story by DJ |
This is the story of my sweet and dear
Mother-in-law, Mom Fitz. I really
don’t like saying the in-law part because she has been a second mother to me
for over 23 years. So to me she is
Mom.
She has a daughter my age and has always
treated me the same as her. If she
would buy something for her, then she would make sure and buy it for me too.
From the time I met and started seeing her son, Mom and Dad have made me
feel like I am truly part of the family. That’s
the Christian way to welcome an outsider into your lives.
I was 4 years older than her son was and this could have been a problem
for some parents since he was 18 and living at home and I was 22.
I was terrified they would hate me, but it was just the opposite.
I am so grateful they let me in their family with such love and
acceptance. I am sure they could
easily tell how much their son and I cared for one another.
Well recently Mom was rushed to the
hospital after a cancerous tumor had burst. They did not think she would make it thru the surgery since
it spread throughout her stomach and she had gangrene. Cancer was on several of her organs and they said she might
have days or weeks at the most. Immediately
we all began praying. My sister has
even gotten her whole church to put her on their prayer list.
There are so many people praying for her that don’t even know her and I
believe that’s why she has made it this far.
She has tried several types of very
strong Chemotherapy which did not work. Every report was showing that the cancer was spreading very
fast and the Chemo was not touching it. Still,
we kept the faith and continued to pray for God’s will.
Her liver is 3 times the normal size with many tumors on it.
Now for the good news.....Anybody out
there who does not believe in the power of prayer, than listen up!
This week, which is 4-1/2 months after the surgery....the Dr. says that
the tumors have stopped growing. PRAISE
GOD !!
If anyone wishes to join in our prayers
for Mom Fitz please please do so. The
more God hears the better for her. I
love this woman very much and she really wants to live.
They are all calling her a miracle.
The prayers asked for miracles, and God made the miracle!
Just a side note of how God has been in
both my husband’s and my life. We
met at the very same club that Mom and Dad met 45 years ago!!!
Is that fate or God’s hand at work....one and the same if you ask me!
Thanks for your support and prayers.
